- 25% of what each referred customer pays for Pro, excluding taxes, for 12 months from their first payment.
- A referral locks to you when the account is created. The last link clicked within 60 days wins.
- Each commission is held 120 days at first, dropping to 90 and then 60 days as you build a clean history with us. Refunds and chargebacks are always deducted, even after release.
- Monthly payouts by PayPal or Wise once your available balance reaches USD 100.
- No self-referrals, brand bidding, coupon sites, spam or misleading claims.
1. Joining the program
These Affiliate Program Terms (“Affiliate Terms”) add to our Terms of Service. Every Unbound Engine account in good standing, Free or Pro, receives a personal referral link and code. To receive payouts, you must accept these Affiliate Terms and add a payout account in your dashboard or the desktop app. You are an independent participant, not our employee, agent or partner, and you may not make commitments on our behalf.
2. How referrals are attributed
- Qualifying referral: a person who creates a new Unbound Engine account after following your link, entering your code at sign-up, or installing the app from an installer downloaded through your link. Existing accounts can’t become referrals.
- Referral window: if the visitor accepts the referral cookie, your link is remembered for 60 days. If they decline, attribution only works within the same visit, through the download and sign-up links, or through the installer.
- Last click: if someone clicks several affiliate links before signing up, the last one counts.
- Locking: attribution is fixed when the account is created and can’t be changed later, except by our fraud review (section 7). A desktop-installer claim must be made within 7 days of creating the account, and before any payment.
- For a desktop-installer referral, the app asks the new user to confirm before the creator is credited.
- Our server records are final for attribution, except for obvious errors, which we will correct.
3. Commission
- Rate: 25% of the net amount the referred customer pays for Unbound Engine Pro. That means after discounts and credits, and excluding sales tax, VAT and similar taxes.
- Duration: every Pro payment in the 12 months after the referred customer’s first Pro payment. Payments after that window don’t earn a commission.
- Renewals and breaks: monthly renewals earn a commission. If the customer cancels and resubscribes within the window, those payments earn a commission too.
- Currency: commissions are calculated and paid in US dollars, rounded down to the nearest cent per payment.
- We may run limited promotions with different rates. The rate shown in your ledger when the payment was made applies.
4. Hold period, trust levels, refunds and chargebacks
Card payments can be disputed with the bank for up to about 120 days after a charge. We hold commissions until that risk has passed, so we don’t have to recover money from you later. The hold depends on your trust level, which we calculate automatically:
| LEVEL | HOW YOU REACH IT | HOLD |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · New | Every affiliate starts here | 120 days |
| 2 · Established | At least 1 payout received and 90 days since your first commission, with no disputes on your referrals in the last 180 days | 90 days |
| 3 · Trusted | At least 3 payouts received and 180 days since your first commission, with no disputes on your referrals in the last 180 days | 60 days |
- The hold counts from the payment date and follows your current level, including for commissions already on hold.
- Before releasing a commission, we recheck the order with our payment provider.
- First payments are confirmed by the second. The commission on a referred customer’s first payment is released only after their next payment succeeds, or once 120 days have passed, whichever comes first (and never before your hold ends).
- Disputes. When a referred customer disputes a payment, or our payment provider refunds one as fraudulent or to prevent a dispute, your payouts pause until we review it, and you return to Level 1 for 180 days. If disputes reach two or more and exceed 1% of your referred payments in the last 180 days, we also stop releasing your commissions until the review is complete.
- Refunds, partial refunds, chargebacks and payment disputes are deducted from the commission for that payment. During the hold they reduce the pending amount. After release or payout, the deduction is taken from your balance and can make it negative until future commissions cover it.
- Payments that are reversed for fraud don’t earn a commission.
- A dispute can still arrive after a commission has been paid. In that case it is deducted from your balance, and you agree to repay a negative balance within 30 days if we ask, or to let us offset it against future commissions.
5. Payouts
- Released commissions stay in your account until your available balance reaches USD 100. They don’t expire while the program runs and your account is in good standing.
- We pay at most once a month, normally within the first 10 business days, by PayPal or Wise to the account you provide. Each of your first 3 payouts is capped at USD 300; anything above the cap stays in your balance for the next month. You are responsible for giving correct payout details. Fees charged by your payout provider or for currency conversion are yours.
- You must complete your tax details (section 6) before your first payout.
- For your security, changing your payout account requires your password and pauses payouts for 7 days. We review every affiliate’s first payout before sending it.
- We don’t pay out to countries or people subject to comprehensive sanctions. Payouts to such countries are blocked.
- You are responsible for declaring and paying taxes on your commissions. Where the law requires it, we withhold tax from a payout and show the amount on your statement.
- If we end the program or close your account for reasons other than a breach, we will pay your available balance even if it is below the minimum.
6. Tax information and commission statements
- Before your first payout you must give us your legal name, tax residence country, address and tax identification number, plus your VAT number if you are VAT-registered. We need these to document the payments and to file the tax reports that apply to us. They are encrypted at rest.
- If you agree to self-billing in your dashboard, we issue a commission statement for each payout on your behalf. You accept these statements as your invoices, you won’t issue your own invoices for the same commissions, and you tell us promptly if your details or VAT status change. You remain responsible for declaring the income and any VAT/IGIC due. If you don’t agree to self-billing, you must send us an invoice that matches each statement before we pay.
- We may ask for official forms or certificates required by tax law (for example a tax residence certificate, or IRS Form W-9 or W-8BEN). We may hold payouts until we receive them.
- Commission statements and payout records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
7. How you may promote Unbound Engine
You may share your link organically in your videos, descriptions, posts, newsletters, courses and websites. You must:
- Disclose the relationship clearly and close to the link (for example “affiliate link” or “I earn a commission if you subscribe”), as consumer protection laws require, such as the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive and the FTC Endorsement Guides;
- describe the product honestly, without inventing features, prices, results or endorsements, and without presenting yourself as Unbound Engine.
You may not:
- refer yourself, your other accounts, or people in your household to earn commission on your own subscriptions;
- bid on “Unbound Engine” or similar terms in paid search, or use our brand in domain names, app names or ads that could be mistaken for ours;
- publish your link on coupon, deal, cashback or incentive sites, or offer rewards for signing up, unless we agree in writing;
- send spam or unsolicited messages, or use bots, cookie stuffing, forced clicks, hidden frames, adware or any technique that sets referral cookies without a real click and the visitor’s consent;
- run paid advertising pointing to your link without our written permission.
8. Review, reversal and termination
We automatically flag patterns such as the same device, network or email as the affiliate, payout accounts or tax IDs shared between affiliates, referrals between two affiliates who refer each other, and clicks from paid advertising. Flagged referrals are reviewed by a person, and their commissions stay on hold until then. If we find a breach of these Affiliate Terms, we may reject the referral, cancel unpaid commissions connected to the breach, recover commissions already paid for it, and suspend or remove you from the program. We will tell you why and give you a chance to respond, unless the law or an ongoing fraud investigation prevents it.
You can leave the program at any time by deleting your payout account and contacting affiliates@unbound-engine.com.
9. Changes to the program
We may change these Affiliate Terms, including rates and payout rules, with at least 30 days’ notice. Changes don’t affect commissions earned before they take effect. We may end the program with 30 days’ notice. Referrals made before the end date keep earning for the rest of their 12-month window unless we tell you otherwise, in which case we pay what you have earned so far.
10. Using our brand
While you take part, you may use the name “Unbound Engine” and our logo, unchanged, only to promote the Service with your link. This permission ends when you leave the program.
11. Liability and general terms
The program is provided “as is”. We are not liable for lost commissions caused by browsers, extensions or visitors blocking cookies, by technical failures outside our reasonable control, or by your breach of these Affiliate Terms. Sections 11 to 17 of the Terms of Service (disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law and general terms) also apply to the program. Questions: affiliates@unbound-engine.com.
