THE SHORT VERSION
  • Unbound Engine is a desktop workspace for documentary narration and visuals. Free covers narration with your own provider keys; Pro adds premium templates.
  • Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record. Their checkout terms apply to the purchase itself.
  • Your projects stay on your computer. You are responsible for the scripts, voices and media you use, and for your provider accounts.
  • Don’t clone voices without permission, resell our templates or abuse the service.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Angel Cardona Hernández, trading as Unbound Engine, C/ Secundino Alonso 29, 35600 Puerto del Rosario, Las Palmas, Spain, NIF 78595681N (“Unbound Engine”, “we”, “us”). They cover the website at unbound-engine.com, your account, the Unbound Engine desktop application, its updates, premium template packs and related services (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account, downloading the app or using the Service, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you may bind it to these Terms. If you take part in the affiliate program, the Affiliate Program Terms also apply.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account or buy Pro.
  • Give accurate information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at legal@unbound-engine.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • One person per account. Accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred.
  • Each account can have one active computer. You can replace it once every seven days. Activation uses a hardware-protected key on your device (Windows TPM or macOS Secure Enclave).

3. Plans, billing and cancellation

Free includes narration and voiceover tools with your own provider API keys. Pro is a monthly subscription (currently USD 49.95 per month, plus applicable taxes) that adds access to separately downloaded premium templates. Features of each plan are described on our website and may change over time as described in section 13.

Pro purchases are processed by Polar Software, Inc. (“Polar”), which acts as our merchant of record and reseller. Polar handles checkout, payment methods, invoices and sales tax/VAT, and its own terms apply to the transaction. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time in one click from your dashboard or the desktop app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and Pro access continues until then. You can undo a cancellation until that date. Our charges appear on your card statement under the name shown in your dashboard’s billing section.

Refunds. You can request a full refund of any Pro payment from your dashboard within 14 days of that payment. Your first refund is processed immediately and automatically; later requests are reviewed by us in good faith, usually within 2 business days. A refunded subscription ends immediately, including Pro access. Refunds are issued through Polar to the original payment method. Please ask us for a refund rather than disputing a charge with your bank: it is faster for you, and disputes cost both of us fees. Nothing in these Terms limits refund rights you have under applicable consumer law.

EU/UK consumers: right of withdrawal. Pro gives immediate access to digital content and services. When you subscribe, you ask us to start supplying the Service immediately and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once supply has begun, to the extent permitted by law. If you withdraw before downloading or using premium content, contact us for a full refund.

4. Your licence to use Unbound Engine

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the desktop app on your activated computer, and, while you have Pro, to use premium templates to create your own videos.

Videos you render with our templates are yours to publish, including commercially. You may not: redistribute, resell or share the app, premium template packs or their source; extract templates to offer them as a competing product or asset pack; bypass activation, licence or update checks; reverse engineer the Service except where the law allows it; or use the Service to build a competing product.

5. Third-party providers and your API keys

Unbound Engine connects to services you choose, such as ElevenLabs, MiniMax, Fish Audio, OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude) and DeepSeek, using your own API keys. Keys are encrypted on your computer and are not sent to us. When you use a provider, the text, audio or other content you select is sent directly from your computer to that provider under your agreement with it. You are responsible for complying with each provider’s terms and for any charges they bill you. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability or their output.

The optional local Fish Audio engine is subject to the Fish Audio Community License, including its attribution requirement.

6. Your content and voices

You keep all rights to the scripts, recordings, images, footage and other material you bring to the Service and the outputs you create (“Your Content”). Projects are stored locally on your computer. We do not receive Your Content unless you send it to us, for example in a support request.

You confirm you have all rights and permissions needed for Your Content. Voice cloning requires the clear permission of the person whose voice it is. Keep records of that permission. You are responsible for checking facts, sources and rights in the videos you publish.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

  • impersonate a real person, or create deceptive audio or video of real people without their consent, including political deepfakes or fraud;
  • create content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, sexually exploits minors, promotes violence or infringes others’ rights;
  • infringe copyright, trademarks or privacy, including through footage or images you don’t have the right to use;
  • attack, overload, probe or scrape our systems, or interfere with other users;
  • share accounts, resell access, or misuse the affiliate program.

We may suspend or limit access when we reasonably believe these rules have been broken, and will tell you why unless the law or security prevents it.

8. Our intellectual property

The Service, including the app, templates, transitions, sound library, website, brand and documentation, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the licence in section 4, these Terms give you no rights to them. Third-party components are licensed under their own terms, which we list in the app and its documentation.

9. Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

10. Updates and availability

We regularly update the app, sometimes automatically after you confirm. Some updates may be needed to keep using the Service securely. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Signed update metadata expires periodically, and features that depend on our servers (sign-in, activation, template downloads) need an internet connection.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. AI-generated narration, drafts and style suggestions may be inaccurate. Review everything before you publish. Nothing in these Terms excludes guarantees that consumer law gives you and that cannot be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability arising from the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in that period or USD 100. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

13. Indemnity

If you use the Service for business purposes, you agree to defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms, including voice and image rights claims.

14. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may change the Service and these Terms. If a change materially reduces your rights or changes prices, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance by email or in the app. Price changes apply from your next billing period after the notice. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the change.

15. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting legal@unbound-engine.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, or where the law requires it. On termination, your licence ends. Projects already on your computer stay yours. Sections 6, 8 and 11 to 17 survive termination.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Puerto del Rosario (Las Palmas) have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there. EU consumers can also use the European Commission’s consumer redress resources.

17. General

These Terms, together with the policies they reference, are the entire agreement between us about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we don’t enforce a right, we haven’t waived it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.
